Rhone Red Blends from Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Rhone, France The 2019 Les Cailloux's complexity and aging potential are phenomenal. It offers dominant aromas of red fruits enhanced by a woody touch from the barrel-contained Syrah grapes. A great taste of red and black fruits. The tannins are harmonious and elegant. Very long finish with complex aromas of orange peel, garrigue notes, and white pepper. Blend: 70% Grenache, 17% Mourvèdre, 10% Syrah, 3% Cinsault

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 95: Substantially darker and more concentrated than the 2018, the sample provided by the Brunels of their 2019 Chateauneuf du Pape shows why Lucien was excited to send it over, despite the vagaries of international shipping. Hints of thyme and lavender accent wonderfully pure black cherries on the nose, while the full-bodied palate is rich and velvety, with a gentle wash of soft tannins on the long finish. It looks to be the best Les Cailloux since the 2016.
Wine Enthusiast 93: This blend of Roussanne and Grenache Blanc opens with whiffs of tart white peach and lime veiled by a delicate shroud of smoke. Full bodied and silken on the palate yet delightfully salty and tangy too, it juxtaposes ripe pear and grapefruit flavors against crisp green apple and pineapple. While demure in youth it should gain complexity through 2030 and hold longer still. Folio Fine Wine Partners. Cellar Selection.
